2025 11 03

The company group Grigeo Group, which places great emphasis on sports, has extended its partnership with the strongest women’s basketball club in Lithuania, Vilnius Kibirkštis. Thanks to this collaboration, support will continue not only for the growth of women’s basketball in the capital but also across the country, promoting the development of girls sports and encouraging the brightest young Lithuanian talents.

To mark the renewed collaboration, Grigeo Group established one-time scholarships for three promising young Kibirkštis basketball players who shone at the European Youth Championships this summer – Sintija Aukštikalnytė, Danielė Paunksnytė, and Gabija Galvanauskaitė.

„We constantly strive not only to contribute to sports achievements but also to encourage society to pay attention to stories that inspire. Our collaboration with Vilnius Kibirkštis is our commitment to promote women’s sports, provide additional opportunities for young and talented basketball players, and strengthen the sports community in the capital. We are proud to have successfully contributed to these goals for three years.” says Tomas Jozonis, CEO of Grigeo Group.

According to Eglė Jucevičiūtė, head of Kibirkštis, every club wants to have partners who share its vision.

„It is very important for us to have strong and motivated partners by our side who believe in our ambition and goal to become the strongest in our region, so we are delighted that this partnership with Grigeo Group continues. We want to make our name known not only through victories in Lithuania and Europe but also through attention to youth. We are the leaders of women’s basketball in the country, so we must be the beacon whose light shows the way in sports to all young Lithuanian basketball players. The three-year partnership with Grigeo Group makes this vision a reality.” says E. Jucevičiūtė.

Founded in 1923, Grigeo Group has, over a century, grown into one of the largest companies in the Baltic region producing fiberboard, cardboard, and hygiene paper, employing over 1,000 people. In 2024, the Grigeo Group’s annual turnover reached 213 million euros. The group consists of 10 companies operating in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, and Ukraine.

Vilnius Kibirkštis is the oldest and most decorated women’s sports club in Lithuania, a multiple national and Baltic League champion, participant in the European Cup and EuroLeague competitions, contributing to promoting Lithuania’s basketball reputation abroad, and actively developing girls basketball programs.
